The BABoK Knowledge Areas are areas of specific business analysis expertise. Repeatable methods can be constructed using the Knowledge Areas, Core Concept Model, and tasks. Repeatable methods save time, pre-align expectations, and enable consistent outputs.
A generic method is presented that utilizes the Knowledge Areas in a typical linear path:
- Planning and Monitoring
- Elicitation and Collaboration
- Strategy Analysis
- Requirements Analysis and Design Definition
- with a mix of Requirements Life Cycle Management followed by
- Solution Evaluation
Methods can be developed for each Project Type (software development, COTS, RFP, PoC, etc.)
